Our story
The Neighbors is a New York City-based dance team that is influenced by Hip Hop and various street and club cultures and styles. Founded in 2013 by Esosa Oviasu and Kristian Nacional, The Neighbors is dedicated to facilitating its members’ artistic, athletic, and holistic growth through freestyle, choreography, competition, dance education, and community engagement.
Current members and alumni have danced and choreographed for Broadway, commercial tours, music videos, and have sustained community engagement through fundraisers and community classes. They’ve built a history of competitive excellence, most recently winning first place at Prelude Midwest 2026 and second place at Prelude New York 2026. The company has also recently hosted two sold out shows at the world-renowned Alvin Ailey Theatre.
